Ever since Parks and Recreation ended, I've been craving a worthy successor. Abbott Elementary is that successor. It ticks all the boxes: Relatable, likeable characters Brilliant sense of humour and self deprecation Shaky camera work Touches on real world issues I'm only halfway through season one, but managed to get into it immediately. Was immensely delighted when I looked it up on IMDB to discover a further 3 more season. The lead character Janine Teagues is an uncanny substitute for Leslie Knope, with strong passionate convictions, wanting the best for her pupils. While Jacob Hill, reminiscent of Tom Haverford, the lovable clown who wants to be seen as cool and down with the kids! But aside from those similarities, Abbott Elementary with its obvious flaws and quirks clearly distinguishes itself as a great comedy in its own right.
