As a long-time viewer and fan of well-crafted television, I approached Bad Monkey with high expectations. Unfortunately, one of the standout issues for me was the casting choice for the lead role. Vince Vaughn, while talented in their own right, felt out of place in this role. Their portrayal seemed forced, lacking the depth and nuance that the character required. This misalignment distracted from the overall narrative and weakened what could have been a more compelling story. Another concerning aspect of the series is the persistent theme of white supremacy subtly woven into the storyline. Whether intentional or not, it sends a troubling message, particularly in a time when diversity and inclusion are more important than ever. It feels like Hollywood continues to prioritize certain narratives and faces, often at the expense of more authentic and diverse storytelling. In short terms a minority actor would do much better in this role!
