Everybody knows the last frontier of medical science is the HUMAN FEMALE BODY 51% of the population but it get very little funding for research. Clearly the writers have never been a woman in their 50s. Then they would KNOW that the female body scares the bejasus out of the men in medicine. They back away slowly and then race from the building Most of them don't have a clue what constitutes a 'heavy period'. Obviously that would involve 10 boxes of tampons and an 2 pints of blood. TRUE science fiction would be research into human females. Most bodies used to test drugs etc are male. When a woman takes a drug, we are less confident that it will work in our body chemistry. I live in a world where men who pass laws don't know how pregnancy works, can't tell if an episiotomoy is a cosmetic procedure (most men wouldn't know if their partners have experienced it) but blood left in a bathroom is perceived as more dangerous than nuclear waste !
