This film is beautifully shot where we watch several generations of a large extended family experience Christmas Eve on what might be the last time in the family house. Everything that we see happening in that home reminds me a lot of similar family Christmas gatherings I have experienced in my life. The youngest generation, the school age kids see the wonder and excitement of Christmas. The director shows us the kid's perspective of Christmas lights, through special glasses, and how a young boy handles aunts and great aunts wanting to plant kisses on his cheeks. It is a large cast and they all feel very familiar. Miller's Point features an Italian family in Long Island, but the holiday traditions try they show could be in anywhere USA. The film has a warm feel to a familiar family Christmas.
