There are admittedly some great Apple shows like For All Mankind but a lot ( especially of late ) have the same distinctive problem. They meander about for a whopping, exceedingly dull 50 minutes or so. Disclaimer knocked that out of the park with its narrative about absolutely nothing. After the first episode we still have zero idea what the show is about and have zero inclination to find or care about. It's not that I couldn't follow the plot. I just chose not to because the characters were incredibly unlikable and uninteresting. There are zero thrills in this. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional. I've admired some of Cuaron's other works but here it's paint by the numbers. If you want to see people have random, nonsensical dialogue for an hour then this is your dream show. Unlike other times when we've stuck to a show hoping it improves we're not watching it anymore knowing this is pure trash. Apple do better.
