I was always a huge Family Guy fan, especially the original 3 Seasons will never not be funny to me, but sadly after the show got revived again, you could fell that it's slowly declining in quality. Especially the characters became blander and meaner, to a point where they were hardly characters anymore. There are a lot of drawn out scenes too, that are just so time consuming and boring as hell. The cutaway gags have always been a problem, while a lot of them are classics and absolutely great there are also a lot of cutaways that just leave you with a straight face, in worst case even cringing at the humor. And when it comes to the story, most of the time there is none, or they're reused, it's all about the cutaway gags now. But to be fair there are still some good creative episodes in the later seasons. There has never been a season without any good episodes in my opinion. I'd say that: Season 1-3 are the golden age Season 4-5 are still very enjoyable Season 6-7 are not as good, but still enjoyable Season 8-9 is where it starts getting really hit or miss Season 10-12 is the animated equivalent to hell Season 13-14 are a little bit better, but still not really good Season 15-20 is just bland American Dad is the far superior MacFarlane show.
