I love the idea for this show. Alternate history like The Man in the High Castle are really interesting to think about. The special effects, sound design, and video quality are phenomenal as you would expect. My issue with this show is that they've written every single character to be not only flawed, but unlikable. There's no single character to root for. The central family are terrible parents and have cardboard personalities. I'm an engineer and I get what grumpy introverted engineer types are like. But, this is entertainment, and I'd like a little more charisma to latch onto. Between the few space-centered scenes there are mountains of family drama and long stretches of boring dialogue. I think they would have been better served making 45 minute episodes, rather than an hour. They tend to drag on. The cliffhangers have managed to keep me interested. Haven't seen season 2 yet. If it's as good as season 1, I'll watch. If it drops off in quality I'll move on pretty quickly. I hope they make more shows like this. Just with a little more pace and better writing.
