Every so often, one comes across a show whose premise sounds really interesting. And what gets more interesting than a creepy serial killer show "based on a true story"? I had high hopes for this show after the void that Mindhunter left in my viewing history and it started off looking promising. The acting is pretty good and the atmosphere and pacing kept me smashing that 'next episode' button and that's when it all fell apart. What started off as interesting quickly revealed itself to be a tedious and morally bankrupt package tied off with a nice political bow. What went through these show runners minds when they decided to portray the protagonist as a crusading saviour of a white woman, I will never understand. It's complete fiction and appallingly unethical given that it uses real victims and real people. 2 stars instead of one since the production quality isn't all that bad.
