The writing is so bad that I was fast-forwarding through endless scenes of cringe-worthy dialogue. The premise for the series is just stupid, and all the characters are poorly developed and silly. There are flashbacks every other scene and there is no point to them. They don't serve any purpose except to give Quaid more screen time, which normally would be a great idea, but not in this. I actually felt sad for him, that he got swindled into taking this part. After the first episode, I had no empathy for any of the characters. I didn't care for how the story turned out. Where have all the good screenwriters gone?
