What started off as a fairly cliched but harmlessly fun 70s gangster romp has now turned into a test in patience. After 3 episodes the lead is continuously bland, the comic relief is very quickly getting on my nerves with wild tonal shifts in the show going from Scarface-lite to something out of a bad Will Ferrel movie. The lead female who was a former Pornstar (who gets VERY angry if you mention that, even though at the time with Behind the Green Door and Deep Throat, the porn industry was somewhat prestigious) seems to also double as a cold blooded serial killer with no qualms in murder. That gets to the one interesting plot point in the show, Chicho, who was the second hand to the lead's brother, the head of a drug organization, finds out he's working for the DEA, but gets shot in the neck before he can tell anyone. He survives, adding an element seemingly out of the lead's control, but that story line is immediately discarded... I really like Michael Chiklis, but his character has become a 1 note (like everyone else) broken record by threatening the lead to work for him or something will happen to his daughter. Even an eye rolling Godfather ending copycat montage was done with as little tension as possible. Are the actions of everyone and everything going on affecting anyone or anything in the slightest? If they are it's too early to tell, or its just bad writing/acting.
