Film is like art. It's a matter of enjoyment. I'm sure there's a large audience of people who love this adaptation. Especially people who aren't familiar with Rice's novels. But the pattern of disrespect and disregard continues for horror/fantasy writers like Poe, Howard, Lovecraft and now Rice. It can be argued that this show is good and I believe it is in a way. The acting is good, sets are well done, lights and cinematography are good and even the writing seems ok but......not one line was written by Anne Rice. Someone has taken a title and character names and decided the actual writing wasn't up to par. There's alot missing from Rices character building and the nuanced way she introduces us to Louis and Lestat. If this was a novel I purchased to read I would have stopped after 3 chapters. It doesn't work for me. Please come up with your own stories and characters. Disappointed with AMC in this one.
