Look I don't mind healthy teeth (and it wasn't sugar but wheat flour that damaged teeth so they were unhealthy and falling out in this period, and the archaeology shows this), absurdly clean clothes, incorrect accents, and the dozens of anachronisms in every minute of this show. But there are gender role, class role, slavery, and lifestyle of native Americans at that time and in that region that are huge and moronic false portrayals. How is it that someone admits stealing at gambling in a time where thieves are lynched? Why are the poor conditions for women among the colonists shown, but not the highly exploiter, near slavery of women within native American culture? The Algonquian and especially Pamunkey native Americas in the area had been engaged in full on genocidal warfare against each other and other tribes, enslavement, etc before the colonials arrived. On slavery, are we forgetting colonial law in British possessions was British law. ALL local laws, compacts, and decisions by administrators could be, and often were, overturned by the government in London, and any law passed in London trumped and superseded any law by any colonial group. So it was England controlling the slave issue in English territory in colonial Americas. Also most of the profit from slavery went to people in England who never set foot in the Americas, but owned land though aristocratic grants. In fact even middle class Brits in England owned shares in plantations. Overall this is an awful show.
