As soon as Lincoln appeared in his first scene I felt like I was watching a series made for the History Channel, where the budgets are so low that they have to keep using the same clips of average-at-best actors over and over again. It'a like watching extended segments of "The Men Who Built America". I love watching American history series and was optimistic that this would be good, considering it's on Apple TV+, but it has so far significantly disappointed me. As others have noted, the use of CGI is fairly evident in a lot of scenes and the acting of the extras is even worse than the main characters. I realize that there's been a decent amount of research regarding what Lincoln sounded like but I pray to god that Daniel Day Lewis' portrayal is more accurate than this.
