Excellent. The controversy around it is purely political. Jesus was of course jewish, as was almost the entire population of judea at that time. Jesus was thought to be from the line of king David- true or not, the casting is authentic. The most questionable acting comes from the most well-known actor. Sometimes Hopkins seems to throw lines away as though he just doesn't care anymore. Maybe he doesn't but either way this is a Christmas movie and is a great & original stab at one. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved seeing a different take on Mary, living in such a male dominated era. Tell the story of mary magdalena next.
