The basic premise of the show is a good sci-fi premise. However, they don't lean on the premise instead they lean on hardcore pandering. Almost everyone's gay, trans, poly, ethnic and/or special needs. The actors are cast for their diversity instead of for their talent, so you get a bunch of mediocre high school drama club kids instead of talented actors. It's fine to have a diverse cast, but at least make it a talented diverse cast. The futuristic aspects are very scant, it doesn't feel like a show in the future, it feels like a show in the now. With today's politics and today's technology.
