Patterns in mathematics, fascinating idea (and true, by the way). Bright university kid stumbling on a big discovery. Broken superprofessor-mentor. Shadowy organizations. Deadly knowledge. I mean, at least an "inspired by Darren Aronofsky" credit should be due. You remember his first feature film, don't you? The creators of this show sure do. However... The protagonist is a cardboard cutout, so is pretty much everyone else, and I feel like I've seen this story already. Visually boring. Non-sequitur scenes. Run of the mill music. The whole thing is, so far, a giant, apple-shaped meh. Which is kind of a shame when you consider how much Aronofsky created from such little funding. Yeah, I know, just one episode in, but... meh.
