If it were a book I wouldn't have been able to put it down. Hare does a brilliant job in portraying Peter Laurence, a politician with a nose for power, wriggling his way through the system. Despite his awfulness, he is still a rounded, three dimensional character. Sometimes you even find yourself rooting for the cad. With an unpredictable, intersecting plot line, some surprising turns and a great cast and score, this is a must-watch if you like political thrillers. Just don't expect it to do much to raise your expectations of politicians.
