5 stars, but only for pre-2012 SNL (or something....). Its gotten so bad. I've been watching this show for almost 30 years and I've seen every season. It was arguably my favorite of all time, until now and produced some of my favorite all time actors and actresses. The show has often had ups and downs (yea, live sketch comedy is....hard haha, not kidding). During all those times there was always one critical constant that you could count on even during that awful stint in the mid 80s (...and 1995 lol). The one thing that is missing for the first time in its history: good cast members and writers, or at least a good proportion of one or the other. Now? Not only is it a badly aged 46 year old fermented cheese whiz, but the cast and writing is awful. Well *most* of the cast, but things are bad enough that the few good cast members they do have aren't even being utilized properly. That one cast member, I dont even know his name honestly because I don't care, but he is totally an irritating little fanny pack wearing type. Not in a funny or endearing way though! Just in an annoying way. He has that vibe to him where a part of you secretly would love to see him get smacked around a bit.
