The characters were real and interesting. In a world of good TV nowadays this is a standout. So often I watch something that should be memorable, high production values - good cast - maybe even good writing, but really I can't be asked to go back after the first episode because I just don't care what happens to the characters. This was so different and kept me coming back. It was funny and real and sad and uplifting This isn't about rich people being mean to each other or zombies or a middle class sitcom. It's a small slice of life at the bottom end of the socioeconomic scale. I wasn't one of these girls but I went to school with them.
