Here is what I want out of Star Trek. I want Space Based Stories that revolve around a good story that feels real and relies on a well structured crew that is there only to compliment the Story and the Science. What I don't want is more 2020 life problems and a constant barrage of character nurturing pep talks designed to make people feel better about themselves. I really wanted to love this show, but from the moment I saw the Butch Navigator and heard all the talk back and character opinions I pretty much knew this was going to be another ST Discovery. Right now the show is somewhat OK but Discovery was also OK for the first season and then it Woked itself to death. I fear this is going to have the same kind of Woke issue ramping up as the episodes progress.
