This was heading to be an all time low Oscar ceremony. They had three presenters but the jokes were awful. Everyone of them failed to raise a laugh with me. Also what was the deal with all the groping of men. Have all the good gag writers succumb to Covid? Bad presenters, bad speeches and poor Liza Minnelli. She did not know where she was. Did the producers not realise the state of her health? Even some of the celebrations of past movies were odd. The James Bond tribute were a selection of clips. I had no idea why White Men Can't Jump deserved a tribute. Much better was to see the icons from The Godfather trilogy. Somehow it was not a total shambles. Will Smith and Chris Rock came to the rescue with a remake of Rocky. Chris Rock told a poor joke but showed he can stand on his own two feet. He is certainly not a diver. Meanwhile Smith reminded the audience that he got his first Oscar nomination for Ali. The show did end with a Coda.
