The Actor 2025 720p WEB-DL x264

Beautifully shot in the studio, this 93-minute stagy plod of light cues, a plot that leaves the protagonist in the same condition he started in, and a general "meh" from the audience, "The Actor" is not worth the effort to go out and see it. There is no real arc to this story. The actors are all known talents, mostly in British productions, using American accents for the U. S.-set movie. They do a fine job in multiple parts which adds to the staginess of the thing. The set design is well done, but fairly unrealistic. The only way to describe this movie is to imagine a large beautiful jewel in your cupped hands. As you lean in to get a closer look and turn to the light, you see the flaws and color variations and realize you are not holding anything valuable. "The Actor" is a beautiful, pretentious piece of plastic pretending to be worthwhile.
