The Agency S01E09 720p WEB-DL x265
In 2024, mass media audience can never really tell how long something good will last. In the modern era season one is often the best, because, it seems: it's fresh, new and everyone involved has enthusiasm. The Agency appears to have all these positive qualities, season one. It's not just the cast - the producers must have pulled together a great team, because there is a lot of professionalism on display: acting, direction, design, location, camera, lighting, sound, score. The building blocks are cliché: government agency, field operator with dynamic personal circumstances, complex environment with layers of moving parts. But, I'd argue the presentation feels really unique. The viewer is let in on some secrets, left guessing about others, and sees the same qualities in the shows cast, which creates an interesting web on facts to keep track of. I'd say a difficult approach, but The Agency appears up to it. A lot of narrative is delivered visually, with no dialog at all. I'd guess this requires production finesse to keep everything on the same page, and it's fun to watch. My hope is this show continues to emphasize entertainment first approach moving forward. Also try to maintain all the talent, especially writers who seem eager to flee to the next big project, the next season one. The Agency deserves a solid run with this excellent start.
