When I was a kid I used to love watching scary movies on Saturdays. There were usually two movies shown during a program called, "Creature Feature" hosted by Dr. Paul Bearer. Anyway, my favorites usually took place in what would appear to be the late 1800s and there were often scenes in the woods at night with a heavy fog. It always set such the perfect mood. This movie reminded me a lot of those old films and it was EXCELLENT!! Not cheesy. Not corny. Not your typical B-rated horror movie. It was actually really cool! I enjoyed the suspense and the acting was great! Boyd Holbrook and Kelly Reilly (Beth from Yellowstone) both performed well in their roles. All the sound effects were really good along with the music to help set the tone of each scene. If you even remotely like the horror genre, I'd highly suggest you see this one on the big screen. Oh, and there's something that occurs that helps it stand out beyond just your normal run of the mill movie. I'll score this one at a surprising 8/10. It was really refreshing to see a horror movie that was this good.
