The story has promise and I watched both available episodes. The staged pauses before anyone answers a question and the stereotypical young female walking away in a huff before slamming a door become tedious, and I wonder how long the episodes would be if they just talked like normal people. I was reminded of every soap opera I catch glimpses of when I'm channel surfing. I haven't read the book and based on the reviews I read I probably won't. Most of the criticism of the book also centers around the lack of character development. But the story has potential and if the characters become less annoying then I'll stick with it.
