"The Night Agent" is a typical agent series and just drips with these clichés - cool agents, corrupt officials and ice-cold killers. As far as the story goes, there aren't many surprises in store here either. After watching the first episode you can think of 3 plot twists and there is a high probability that at least 1 of them will happen. But I think that's exactly what "The Night Agent" wants to be - a series in the good old James Bond manner, which does the thinking for the viewer so that they can relax and enjoy the rousing action. As the saying goes, "The Night Agent" doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't want to do that at all, just offer entertainment. The actors do a good job here, even if they only rattle off clichéd dialogues. The combat and action scenes are also fun to watch. It also entertained me quite well and it was relaxing to watch a series where my head could take a vacation.
