There are many things to like about the show, but I can't help but focus on the things that I don't like and how easy they would be to fix. The show is not really about the work fo a Texas Ranger at all. The two cases we've seen so far have taken up about 20% of the show (if that) can can be solved by anyone who has ever watched any cop procedural. The two cases are both rip offs of cases we've seen in every one of them. The characters are mostly one dimensional. Walker's father, daughter, and captain all have the exact same character. None of them have shown a different facial expression in the two episodes. And in both we've had the "you're daughter never showed up for..." scene. The mom and son both have the same character - trying to make things okay. Walker's brother's "reveal" was very obvious. And even his partner seems to be forced on things to make things more likable. Bad dialogue, worthless plots, and this constant stuff with the wife is slowing down things. If that's the show they want, more power to them, but this could have been put into any setting. The use of a "Walker" reboot to add something isn't needed or helping. I'll give it another episode to see if it feels like they have things in place and can move on, but if I get one more "you're daughter didn't show up for..." I'm out.
